jammies in June - July 2016

dtr is always one to get behind a cause that helps kids and Jammies in June was no exception.

Jammies in June was started in 2013 by the Middlemore Foundation, a charitable trust that supports and raises funds for health services provided by the Counties Manukau District Health Board.  A team drives the fundraiser, which is supported by dozens of businesses, including Countdown, ASB Bank, the Vodafone Warriors and Farmers.

It was the Vodafone Warriors who asked us and their other sponsors to be involved and offered a morning tea delivered by players to the sponsor with the most donations. Whangarei and Hastings branches sent in some jammies, the Support Office rallied strongly and when it all boiled down it turned out we won the morning tea.  Quite the icing on top of the cake.

So come July 1st Sione Lousi and Ligi Sao brought the entire Support Office a lovely morning tea. It was a great morning with loads of photos, conversation and delicious food! Once we heard we had won we did another whip around and were able to have another 20 odd sets of pajamas waiting for them as well.

Big thanks to everyone who supported this worthy cause and thanks to the players and Petrece Kesha for bringing in such a lovely morning tea.
