Vodafone Junior Warriors in the grand final - October 2013Alice Buchanan October 01, 2013 : 0
The Vodafone Junior Warriors have made us proud again! They knocked out the consistently strong Bulldogs to secure a spot in their third NYC grand final in four years.
The boys displayed true skill and power in what was deemed their “sternest challenge yet” at ANZ stadium last weekend. They shot to a 16-0 lead in just eight minutes, but this stirred the Bulldogs to respond with a run of 34 points to lead 34-16 straight after half time.
However, our Vodafone Junior Warriors were too hungry and fought back hard in the second half. They scored three tries in seven minutes and finished with a final super charge of 20 points!
This result means the team has the best win-loss record in NYC finals football history. They have reached the play-offs in each of the NYC’s six seasons and have won 11 of their 15 finals matches. So the odds for this weekend are looking good!
We wish the boys the best of luck for the grand final this Sunday October 6. They face Penrith at Sydney’s ANZ stadium and we’ll be eagerly watching on the edge of our seats. Come on boys!
