dtr mix with the stars at the NRL awards dinner - September 2013

A few of the dtr management team had a fabulous time at the Vodafone Warriors’ annual NRL awards dinner at Skycity on Monday night.

Vodafone Warriors captain, Simon Mannering, made history by becoming the first player to win the club’s supreme Lion Red Player of the Year Award three times. Unfortunately he wasn’t there to accept the award – he had a slightly more urgent event as his partner was in labour with their first child!

Sam Rapira, who captained the side against Canberra earlier in the season, accepted the award on behalf of Mannering.

The other three finalists: Nathan Friend, Thomas Leuluai and Manu Vatuvei made outstanding contributions in a season which saw the Vodafone Warriors narrowly miss out on making the finals.

Other winners of the night included:

Ngani Laumape – Vodafone Rookie of the Year

Manu Vatuvei – Canterbury of New Zealand Clubman of the Year

Jerome Ropati – SKYCITY Legacy Award

Shaun Johnson – Vodafone People’s Player of the Year

Congratulations to all the award winners and we’re looking forward to the next season!
