dtr & Shine - a proud partnership - June 2013

Alice Buchanan June 20, 2013 : 0

Following our exciting Warriors Match Day, we received a lovely letter from Shine thanking us for the total $6,500 donation raised. We thoroughly enjoyed helping them on the day and feel this is the least we could do for such a deserving charity.

Shine is New Zealand’s largest single domestic abuse charity, doing incredible work to make homes violence free. For over twelve years they have been making a positive difference to Kiwi families, and we are honoured to help them achieve their mission of ‘doing what works to stop domestic abuse.’

To recap, we donated $100 per point scored by the Warriors, along with various items for auction in the corporate lounge and prizes for the kids’ competition. We also donated raffle prizes for the Warrior Princess event held the previous Friday at SkyCity to celebrate Women in League – an event which raised a total of $2,500 for Shine. This was done with the help of some of our own fantastic suppliers – Panasonic, Arche, Fisher & Paykel, Haier, LG, Dyson, Dixie Cummings, Geddes and Executive Travel. Thanks again guys for your support!

It’s inspiring to know that this money will help support Shine’s services, and also raise their profile amongst the Warriors fans – who, speaking of which, couldn’t be more proud of the boys who have now won four games in a row!

Last weekend they beat the Sydney Roosters 23-12 in a thrilling match at Allianz Stadium. It’s hard to believe this is the same team that was thrashed in Penrith? But the boys have proved the saying true “it’s not whether you get knocked down. It’s whether you get up again”. They’ve certainly got up again (and lets hope they keep climbing to the top!).

As always, we are proud of the boys and our partnership with Shine and we look forward to raising even more money for this great cause!
