dtr stepping up during July - July 2014

Alice Buchanan July 31, 2014 : 0

We’ve had a busy July and been fortunate to be in a position to help out our favourite charity Shine. We also pitched in a little with our local Primary school, Wymondley Road School.
Shine was recently the beneficiary of Match Day sponsorship by the Vodafone Warriors and TNT. This meant they were able to raise funds during the game on the 12 July with various raffles, competitions and fund raising activities.
We spoke to a few of our suppliers and they came to the party in a big way. They donated prizes for the fund raising efforts in the Corporate Lounge. It was a spectacular effort and we'd like to say a big thank you to Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Dixie Cummings, Geddes Manufacturing, Sony Computer Entertainment, Pacificomm, Arche Technologies and Haier for their support. Shine raised a total of $10,000 over the day. It was a huge success and we were proud to be able to help.
Back to our local area and we have been speaking with Wymondley Road School about their school library. The library is brand new and still lacking in shelving, but we thought we might help out with the addition of a 60" Samsung Smart TV. This TV will be mounted on the wall and can be used for interactive learning and research as it has full internet capacity.
Gordon Howlett, our Executive Chairman has always been a staunch supporter of the school and he was proud to present the TV to the school's young executives (left to right) Moses, Destiny, Luise and Babygirl. They were thrilled and can't wait to see it up and running. We have to extend our thanks also to our Otahuhu branch who stepped up with this delivery and Rob who did all the heavy lifting!
