dtr showcases it's very own pop-up store - May 2012

If there’s an exciting sporting event on, then right now dtr seems to be in the thick of the action. From the tries and tackles of rugby league to the roar of the engines at the Hamilton V8’s – dtr has been there.

Sports fans have been watching from the sidelines in the comfort of our brand new Pop-Up store, which was unveiled at the first Warriors home game on March 18 at Mt Smart Stadium, and again at our Match Day in April. It was exciting to have a fun presence while we showed our support as one of the team’s sponsors.

The dtr Pop Up store container was set-up in the area known as the D-Zone where sponsors of the Warriors are allowed to have their brands on-show, like the Vodafone Super Fan container and the Lion Red ‘bar’.

We were thrilled with our container, it looked fantastic on game day. Apart from the on-field action this was the place to be with plenty of giveaways, prizes and competitions for league-loving punters.

The 12-metre by 3-metre container was made by builder Steve Potts about nine years ago, long before containers were cool. It’s no stranger to major events, and has been used at trade shows and expos over the years. In fact, in 2005 it was rented out by the Barmy Army for the Lions Tour and travelled all around New Zealand (complete with spa pool!).

Another main attraction is that the container is bulletproof, and only takes a minute to set-up or pack down leaving all the goodies inside safe.

At the moment, our Auckland stores take turns with running the store, which doesn’t really seem like work judging by the great time they have whilst doing it!
