dtr's match day at the Vodafone Warriors - April 2012

When the Vodafone Warriors hit their stride, they really hit their stride! Sunday (15th April) saw both the Junior Warriors and the Warriors senior team wipe the floor with the Rabbitohs, winning their games 48-14 and 44-22, respectively.

Sunday 15th also happened to be the day of our Match Day – the day in the season when dtr gets to work with the Vodafone Warriors to entertain the crowd at Mt Smart.

Highlight of the day, apart from the Warriors’ runaway wins, was getting to showcase our new Pop Up store in the fan-packed D-Zone. It was busy, busy, with giveaways, prizes and competitions for the fans. At halftime, we staged an on-field Zorb race that had more bumps and hits than a league game, but none of the bruises! There was also a text-to-win competition with great prizes from Fisher & Paykel. As if that wasn’t enough, the Wymondley School Shine Choir sang in front of the 15,000 fans to raise awareness for Shine, our charity of the day.

Shine does phenomenal work to prevent domestic violence, so we’re honoured to support them. For every point scored during the Warriors game, we donated $50 to Shine (for a healthy total of $3,300), and we also sold branded bottled water for Shine next to the Pop Up store. In total we helped raise an excess of $7,000 for Shine on the day.

A big thank you to everyone who made the day such a success. When you can do great work for others and also have fun – well, business doesn’t get much better than that.
