Papakura store having a big impact - June 2011Mark Spring June 27, 2011 : 0
The newest store in our nationwide chain, Papakura, has been making a big impact in the wider area since it launched just a month or so ago.
Not only is the store tracking well ahead of our projections in terms of sales (currently 40% above what we expected), but it’s also playing a great role in helping the local community.
Branch Manager Michelle Tasi has already delivered a fridge freezer to a school in-need and most recently gave Park Estate School a DVD player to assist the children’s learning.
Michelle herself said it was a ‘very inspiring experience’ being able to see the potential of so many pupils. She also said how excited the kids were to have someone from the area talk about what they had done with their life since leaving school.
This all relates to something myself and the other board members really believe in – having branch managers that, where possible, have lived in the area prior to taking over in a management role. It makes a real difference if customers know the person is a local like they are and this has been proven in Papakura. It’s certainly a pattern we’ll be looking to continue as we open more branches in the future.
